Until recently it seemed that the survival horror (horror video games, for non-experts) were disappearing, with monumental shit like Resident Evil 5, perfect example of how to bust a perfect series to date, or the latest Alone in the Dark, just pathetic (not talking about the Silent Hill saga because I missed the last title, but neither had much success, so probably due to this too).
After many years enjoying this genre to saturation of the various sagas there was something new that would cool the genre and depart completely from scratch by creating a new franchise, this game is the EA's Dead Space that went beyond by 2008.
in a distant solar system, when the giant mining ship USG Ishimura comes into contact with an alien artifact found on a planet of Aegis VII, its communications with Earth are mysteriously interrupted. Systems engineer Isaac Clarke is sent to repair the communications system of the ship, but once on board began to live a real nightmare. The ship is bathed in blood and the crew had been inexplicably mutilated and infected by an ancient alien scourge. The Clarke's repair mission becomes a mission of survival, which not only fight for his life, but will have to find a way to return the artifact to the planet no matter what. An alien life form that little is different from a zombie virus, but much more aggressive and intelligent, also add the factor that most survivors of the ship have totally lost their heads in some way and act different forms in our presence, either committing suicide, killing each other, acting with hostility or simply falling prey to the bugs. But we will begin to slowly realize that this dementia also is affecting us.
In this hostile and chilling atmosphere develop the story of this great game, reminding us enormously to the film Alien by Ridley Scott, only in an even more brutal and aggressive.
move forward through the narrow corridors of the Ishimura fully alert, because the creatures can go absolutely anywhere, because everything moves on vents, so we constantly monitor ceiling, floor and walls for possible enemy but it did not end there, the soundtrack and sound effects play a crucial role and will star in most of the shocks that we have during the game, with the typical shrill notes classic movies and all kinds of sounds strangers, we shall make the hair stand on end.
also highlight scenes zero gravity, very original and fun (until the creatures appear eager to end this fun and it's happened to us), in which we move in leaps and can walk on any solid surface. Also note the perfect physics of these areas where inert object floating around a particular emphasis on fluids like blood floating appearing before us.
Finally add the extreme violence that appears in the game, because if the bugs get away with us, will do a fairly grotesque and exaggerated, but this is not a bad thing, quite the opposite.
In short, a totally creepy game that will delight the survival horror fans and they like being scared.
A unique gaming experience that perhaps fancy something short (12h on easy mode), but with plenty of replay value expectations.
